First Tooth is the private pediatric dental practice of Dr. Nicholas Jize or as the patients call him Dr. Nick. The office is conveniently located in the Cornerstone Business Center in Del Mar, San Diego, California. At First Tooth our goal is simple provide quality care in a comfortable environment. We want to achieve the best possible dental experience and make you feel at home in the process.
Our brand new office was built with our patients and their parents in mind. We would like our patients to associate going to the dentist with a positive experience, not as a source of worries. As a patient your child’s needs are unique and the entire experience will be tailored to achieve the best result. As a parent we want you to be involved in treatment decisions, and you are welcome to join us in the room during your child’s visits.

This was my daughter's first time getting work done and the doctor and his team did an excellent job. As a parent you want to feel comfortable and know that your kids are... safe and treated with the most care and this place did just that. Doctor Nick and the team explained everything step by step, very patient, and friendly. Facility is super kid friendly my kids love it, they watched a movie while getting work done and were comfortable throughout the whole time. Work looked incredible too, clearly Dr. Nick knows what he is doing. My kids have more work to get done and I am happy my family dentist referred me to First Tooth Pediatric Dentistry. I know my kids are in great hands, I really recommend this facility to anyone.read more

Dr. Nick is a great dentist with a really nice office and excellent staff. I have 5 children and kids have been to various pediatric dentists over the years. We started... going to Dr. Nick when he first opened 3 or 4 years ago. Dr. Nick is the best ped dentist we have ever had. He is nice, thorough, respectful of my "no fluoride" and minimal xrays. He doesn't overcharge me, as we have definitely experienced by other pediatric dentists. He bills my insurance and that is it. Other dentists have always given me some supplemental charge for something ("oh, that white filling costs extra" or "We had to do an extra special cleaning that costs extra" etc.). I hesitate writing this great review because I worry Dr. Nick will get so busy that it will be hard to schedule my kids! But he deserves to be that busy.read more

I brought our 4 year old son in today for a checkup and I was very pleased with the great lenghts the office took for maintaining a clean and safe environment during the... pandemic. Dr. Nick and his team have been our son's dentist for 2 years and every time we visit, he makes our son very comfortable and occupied during the check up. The level of cleanliness was second to none and the staff take every measure to ensure a safe visit, including 2 air purifiers, masks and face shields and sanitizers. The tvs on the ceiling and electric train were a nice touch. I would encourage anyone with a child to see Dr. Nick and team and put any worry to rest as his practice is elite.read more

I took my granddaughters to Dr. Nick for the first time and it was such an awesome dentist experience for them. He and his assistant Heather were really great with the girls.... They had not been to the dentist for a couple of years and Dr. Nick took the time to explain all the treatment they would need. The girls loved the waiting area with the Ipads! When it was time for their work Dr. Nick and Heather were so sweet and showed them all the instruments they were using while explaining to the girls what was being done. Dr. Nick is a kind, gentle, patient, knowledgeable and trustworthy dentist. He has taken care of my boys, and their teeth, since day one. He makes visitations CALM and FUN!... We are ever so fortunate to have found him. Many friends, relatives, as well as my husband did not have good dental care as children and they are paying big time for it in adulthood. This is not a good area to neglect. You want an AMAZING dentist for your children and I can happily say he is that!
